Enables students to learn the fundamentals of statistics topics including measures of central tendency and dispersion, classification of variables, sampling techniques, probability, and distributions. Teaches fundamental programming concepts in languages such as Python and SQL. After completion of this course, the student will have the ability to apply mathematical and statistical techniques to solving basic data-centric problems using tools such as Python and other data science languages. Students will also analyze case studies from their community that involve using data to discover insights and make decisions. (Letter grade only)

ICS 101 with grade C or better, or consent.
